The Italian Historical Society of South Australia Inc. (IHSSA) warmly welcomes you. Since 2015, our mission has been to celebrate and preserve the rich history of Italian immigration to South Australia. We aim to honour the courage, traditions, and contributions of Italian immigrants who have helped shape the cultural and social fabric of South Australia.
Through our work, we collect and archive stories, documents, photographs, and other invaluable records, creating a repository that captures the vibrant journey of Italian migrants. Our oral history project provides a voice to the experiences of first-generation migrants, recording their struggles, achievements, and enduring legacy for future generations.
